Corneal Crosslinking
New Corneal Procedure Now Available.
We are proud to announce that Corneal Collagen Crosslinking (CXL) will now be offered at Eye Specialty Group. CXL is a relatively new medical procedure for a progressive eye disease called keratoconus. The Corneal cross-linking technique uses UV light and a photosensitizer to strengthen chemical bonds in the cornea, thereby halting the progression of keratoconus.
An independent Institutional Review Board-approved study is now open to enroll patients to participate.
Study Requirements:
- 12 years old or older
- Progressing keratoconus or other ectatic disease
- Post-LASIK (or other corneal refractive procedure) ectasia
- Fluctuating refraction after RK
- Able to commit to a minimum of six (6) office visits (1 day, 1 week, 1, 3, 6, 12 months) during a 12 month period.
