Chris Brown, M.D., an associate with Eye Specialty Group, received his BS degree in human physiology from Boston University in Boston, Massachusetts. He then attended Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, where he received his MD degree. He then completed an internal medicine residency at University Hospitals Case Medical Center (UHCMC), and subsequently completed an ophthalmology residency at UHCMC as well.
Dr. Brown has remained very active in vitreoretinal research. He has presented at the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology in Ft. Lauderdale, FL; the Cannes Retina Festival (the combined 24th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Retina Specialists and 6th Annual Meeting of the European Vitreo-Retinal Society) in Cannes, France; and the Eye Study Club in Boulder Creek, Colorado. Due to his research endeavors, Dr. Brown won the Rabb-Venable excellence in research award during the 2010 Rabb-Venable Ophthalmology Research Competition, through the National Medical Association. In addition, he holds the honor of being a Roman-Barnes Society of Ophthalmology Scholar. Dr. Brown is currently an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the National Medical Association’s Ophthalmology Division.
